Seminar – How To Escape From a Grab!
The Grove Aikido Club offers a seminar on How To Escape From a Grab, for your Group, Organization, School, or Club We offer simple and passive techniques that are effective for almost everyone that are based on Aikido Techniques. It is easy to learn and remember.
In this world you can get in trouble for defending yourself. If you have to strike someone to get away from them, you may be the one arrested, or sued! Passive techniques allow you to calmly and without striking get free from a grab, so you can gain a little distance to get away, or defend yourself. Aikido is perfect for this type of training. The techniques you will learn are simple enough to be done by children and the elderly, but powerful enough for a small woman to get away from a 250 pound man! They can be practiced at home, or at work without injuring anyone when done correctly. Let us show you how to do them correctly.
A seminar can be done at your location. You need enough room for people to move around in a small area, and a smaller group is preferred, less than 40 people, per seminar, please. There should be no hitting or falling taking place so almost any floor surface should work. Older or sturdy clothes should be worn, since we will practice being grabbed by the shirt.
Participants will need a release of liability, and given a questionnaire afterwards asking how well the seminar was presented and was it worth while. At one of our presentations we received high marks in all areas, with comments like

There is a limited amount of things you can do to protect those you work with, play with, and make your friends. This is one thing you can do to help them and you to be safer in this dangerous world. Are you willing to make your group safer? Do you want to be safer?
